Co-planning a tour with friends
If you have an account, you can now invite other people to help plan a tour with you. Share one link, and your travel group can add stops, write descriptions, add photos, reorder the route and leave comments — all on the same itinerary, at the same time.
Your invited co-planners do not need an account. They join with a link and a passcode. Only you, the tour owner, can publish or delete the tour.
What co-planners can do
- Add stops manually, or pick them from the community library and published tours.
- Edit stop titles and write-ups, add or replace stop photos.
- Drag stops to reorder the route, and set or verify GPS pins.
- Leave comments on a stop — comments stay private to the planning group and never appear on the published tour.
Only the owner can publish the tour to Curated Adventure, delete it, or remove co-planners. AI features (AI photo, AI write-up) are available to signed-in accounts and use that account's credits.
Steps: start a co-planned tour
- Sign in and go to My Tours. Create a tour with + New tour (blank or Generate with AI), or open an existing one.
- In the tour editor, find the Plan together card and tap Show.
- Tap Create invite code. The app generates an alphanumeric invite code (for example
EG2VZN6H) and a 6-digit passcode. - Tap Link to copy the full invite link and passcode together, then send it to your group by chat or email. It looks like:
https://heregotwhat.app/join/EG2VZN6H — passcode 378406 - Your friend opens the link, enters the passcode and a display name, then lands directly on the planning page for your tour.
- Everyone plans together. Changes appear for the rest of the group when they refresh the planning page.
- Before publishing, check every stop's pin — see Verifying GPS locations. Then publish from your own editor.
Managing the group
- New code — generates a fresh invite code and passcode. The old link stops working.
- Turn off — disables joining entirely. Existing co-planners lose edit access.
- You can remove an individual co-planner from the member list in the Plan together card.
Treat the invite link like a password: anyone who has both the link and the passcode can edit your tour. Share it only with your group, and tap New code if it leaks.
