Verifying GPS locations from available stops

Adding a pin is only half the job — before publishing, you should confirm that every pin is where you want visitors to stand. Verification is a one-tap check that catches most bad pins (AI-generated, typo'd, or wrong side of the street) before they reach real travellers.

Stops added from AI generation or from other users' published tours may inherit their original coordinates. Those coordinates are usually close, but not always right. Always verify before you publish.

What the badges mean

  • Verify GPSThe stop has coordinates but nobody has confirmed the pin yet. You can still publish, but visitors will see an "unverified" note on that stop.
  • VerifiedAn editor of this tour has opened the map picker for this stop and confirmed the pin. The badge disappears from the stop card when the pin is verified.
  • MissingThe stop has no coordinates at all (or they're at 0,0). You must place a pin before you can publish. See Setting GPS locations.

How to verify a stop

  1. Open your tour in the editor.
  2. On any stop card with a Verify GPS badge, tap the badge — this opens the location picker on the Map tab, centered on the current pin.
  3. Zoom in as far as you can. Look at the map imagery and confirm the pin is where visitors should stand — right entrance, right side of the street, right corner.
  4. If it's correct, tap Save. The badge disappears — the stop is now verified.
  5. If it's wrong, tap the map to move the pin, then tap Save. Moving the pin also counts as verification.

You can also open the picker from the stop's regular Edit view — any save from the picker counts as verification, whether the pin moved or not.

Recommended pre-publish workflow

  1. Add and reorder all your stops.
  2. Scroll through the stop list. Any card showing Verify GPS needs your attention.
  3. Verify each one, top to bottom.
  4. When every stop is either verified or clearly checked, publish. Unverified stops will still publish — but you'll see a warning banner and visitors will see the "unverified" note on those stops.

For tours in cities you know well, you can verify from the map alone. For unfamiliar cities, cross-check the pin against Google Maps Street View or, ideally, walk the stop yourself once. A pin that's off by even 50 metres can put a visitor on the wrong platform, the wrong plaza, or across a busy road.

If a visitor reports a wrong pin

Visitors can flag a stop for "GPS location is wrong" from the tour view. When you receive a flag:

  1. Open the flagged stop.
  2. Re-open the map picker and reposition the pin.
  3. Save — the stop is re-verified and the flag is resolved.
