1Merlion Park
The Merlion — Singapore's Mythical Icon
The Merlion is a creature with a lion's head and a fish's body, spouting water from its mouth. Designed in 1964, it stands proudly here facing Marina Bay. The lion head recalls the city's old name Singapura — "Lion City" — while the fish body honours its origin as a humble fishing village called Temasek. Stand close and feel the cooling mist.
2Marina Bay Sands SkyPark
The Boat in the Sky
Three 55-storey towers crowned by a 340-metre rooftop park that looks like a giant boat balancing on glass — that's Marina Bay Sands, opened in 2010 and designed by architect Moshe Safdie. The SkyPark holds gardens, restaurants and the famous infinity pool. Even from the ground you can see the elegant curve overhead.
3Gardens by the Bay — Supertree Grove
Trees That Glow
Eighteen "Supertrees" rise between 25 and 50 metres tall, draped in over 162,000 living plants. By day they shade visitors and harvest solar energy; by night they erupt in a free music-and-light show called Garden Rhapsody. The whole Gardens by the Bay complex was opened in 2012 on reclaimed land — a showcase of Singapore's "City in a Garden" vision.
